International Boarding School in Germany
The HPC International Boarding School offers students a safe environment and intensive supervision. Our pedagogically trained supervisors are specialised in meeting the special needs of young people and supporting them in organising their daily lives. They are available as contact persons* on site, 24 hours a day.
Our aim is to create a familial community in which students can live and learn well together. Each individual receives the personal support he or she needs. Students receive full board.
Admission to the boarding school takes place after acceptance into a school programme.

1. Transfer
To get to the boarding school you can either use public transport starting at the Heidelberg central station or an airport shuttle.

2. Closing Times
Summer closure
The boarding school closes on the friday of the holidays at 12:00 pm. All students must have left the boarding school by that time.
The boarding school opens at the last saturday during the holidays at 12:00 pm. This is the earliest time when students can arrive back at the boarding school.
Winter closure
The boarding closes on the last day of school before the holidays at 18:00 pm. All students must have left the boarding school by that time.

You will get more information about that from your bs teacher before every closure time.
3. Daily Routine
Daily Routine
- From 6:30 - individual wake-up, morning hygiene, clean-up room, make bed
- 7:00 – 7:30 - breakfast everyone has to show up fully dressed and go to school afterwards
- 8:00 – 13:00 class
- 13:00 – 13:45 - lunch
- 13:00 – 16:00 - class / study time at library
- 16:00 – 18:30 - study time at ibs / free time
- 18:30 - dinner
- 20:00 – 22:00 - clubs
- 22:00 - latest return from sign-out, rooms have to be tidy
- 22:30 - night rest / be very quiet in your room
Daily Routine on weekends
- 10:00 - breakfast (mandatory)
- 10:30 – 13:00 - cas (gardening club) / free time
- 13:00 – 13:45 - lunch
- 13:00 – 18:00 - free time / field trips / self learning
- 18:30 - dinner
- 20:00 – 24:00 - activities / free time / going out, rooms have to be tidy
- 22:00 - latest return from sign-out
- 24:00 - night rest / be very quiet in your room
Food at IBS
Breakfast
We offer typical Central European breakfast including fresh pastries on a daily basis, sausage, cheese, jams, sweet spreads and cereal. The exact composition may vary due to regional and seasonal availability.
Lunch
During the week lunch is available at the school cafeteria. it varies every day and the kids can choose from two different meals (vegetarian options available). at weekends we offer typical central european food at ibs.
Snack
At 4pm there is a snack provided in the dinning room. Mostly cakes & sweets and coffe & tea.
Dinner
We expect the students to come to dinner self-reliantly and on time! We serve typical central European dinner, based on regional and seasonal availability. At the weekend we love to have bbq or celebrate seasonal food like “Zwiebelkuchen and neuer Wein” oder “Oktoberfest”.
Cooking
After consultation with IBS staff students can cook authentic meals from their home countries on days off school. Note that this will be lunch or dinner for all students, therefore planning is crucial! Independent cooking for oneself or just a part of the group is not permitted.
Freetime Activities and clubs
Monday: Group Evening
During the group evening, current topics and problems are discussed. The students have the opportunity to participate in the daily life of the boarding school. Meal plans, shopping, excursions and clubs are planned here.
Tuesday: Creativity Club
In the creative club there is the opportunity to discover something new every Tuesday. Painting, drawing, handicrafts and crafts are offered here.
Wednesday: Outdoor Sport
At outdoor sports, students can discover great new trend sports. We go skateboarding, play classic table tennis or go climbing.
Thursday: Girlsclub & Gymclub
At the fitness club, students can learn new exercises and fitness equipment accompanied by a trained fitness coach.in the girls' club, our female students can devote themselves to their interests in a protected environment. the topics of the evening are designed by the female students together with their educators.
Saturday: Gardening
In the gardening club, we design the grounds of the boarding school and take care of the outside landscaping.
Health insurance
Health insurance, i.e. insurance for outpatient and inpatient treatment, is the sole responsibility of the parents. check your insurance before your child attends our boarding school. only students with completed health insurance will be hosted at ibs.
